Southern Indiana Resource Solutions- better known as SIRS, is a dynamic organization supporting individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives in their community of choice!

The organization was founded in 1968 through the grassroots efforts of local parents of adults with disabilities who desired to keep their children in their homes and local communities rather than sending them to state-run institutions for the developmentally disabled. Prior to this movement, individuals with disabilities were not allowed a public education, were often institutionalized at a very early age, or were kept isolated in family homes with little to no social interaction.

SIRS has established an outstanding reputation for providing quality support services for adults and children with disabilities in both the local and state communities. SIRS is more than a provider; it is a community-based organization of professionals dedicated to building relationships to support individuals with disabilities on their journey toward independence for equal opportunities for employment, recreation, and living. SIRS provides services in the communities of Dubois, Perry, Spencer, Marion, Warrick, and Vanderburgh.

It is our vision to continue delivering quality services with a new emphasis on and awareness of community inclusion for all individuals. The organization has grown immensely through the years not only in the number of persons served but in how those services are brought to each individual. Quality is important to our customers, our staff, and our community.
