Pam’s Re-Cert Press Release
Pam Rozack completes 12-week Recertification Process for SSA
Community Work Incentive Coordinator Pam Rozack recently completed a rigorous 12-week assessment and recertification process for the Social Security Administration’s Work Incentive Planning and Assistance project. Rozack, formerly certified under the Benefits Planning Assistance and Outreach program as a benefits counselor, received the additional training as part of the Social Security Administration’s effort to insure competency for all coordinators who work with social security beneficiaries within the Work Incentive Planning and Assistance (WIPA) project. All Community Work Incentive Coordinators must successfully complete all sections of the assessment and achieve a minimum score of 80%.
Rozack successfully completed the recertification April 26, 2008. As a fully trained professional, Rozack is prepared to help SSI or SSDI beneficiaries’ age 14 to 64 that are considering working, going to school or starting their own business by answering their questions on work incentives that may be available to them, particularly in the area of return to work supports. Some of the areas Rozack can assist with are:
- Answer beneficiaries’ questions about how part-time, full-time, or seasonal work would affect their individual disability benefits and other benefits that they may receive from Federal, State, and local programs.
- Answer beneficiaries’ questions about how work would affect their health care benefits.
- Answer beneficiaries’ questions about SSA work incentives and help beneficiaries plan how to use work incentives or other benefits for a successful return to work.
- Discuss beneficiaries’ individual employment goals, including possible barriers and the resources or services they would need to overcome any barriers. Rozack can also help them find those resources and services.
- Help beneficiaries work with their local Social Security office to put in place the work incentives that they need.
- Help beneficiaries use their Ticket to Work and find an Employment Network that is right for them.
