SIRS Achieves CARF Accreditation

Southern Indiana Resource Solutions, Inc. (SIRS) was surveyed by CARF on June 26, 27, 28, 2008 as part of their accreditation process.  SIRS invited CARF to send a team of professionals to visit its sites and evaluate services for quality.

The surveyors reviewed records and policies, consulted with staff members, and interviewed recipients of SIRS services as well as other people who may be involved in SIRS processes such as community members or employers.  SIRS has received the highest CARF accreditation possible beginning in 1996 and has continued to receive a 3-year accreditation to date.

SIRS is pleased to announce they have once again achieved the  highest rating. Upon receiving the notification Kelly Mitchell sent out the following email to all SIRS employees, “I want to congratulate and commend ALL of our employees for their outstanding efforts in delivering services to individuals with disabilities and commitment to our vision of equal opportunities for all! This is truly exciting news.”

CARF is an independent,  not-for-profit organization that focuses on ensuring the services a customer is looking for, meet or exceed the customer’s need for quality and the best possible outcomes.

CARF reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally. Their standards are rigorous.  The service providers that meet them are among the best available. The CARF accreditation demonstrates a provider has met quality standards of service. CARF establishes standards to guide providers in offering quality services and outcomes.  CARF uses these national standards to evaluate how well a provider is serving people and how it can improve.
