DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING
Thirteen to fifteen months
♥ If your child is thirteen months, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:
- Does your child stand alone without having to hold onto something for at least 15 seconds?
- Does your child say “dada” when he wants or sees his father or “mama” when he wants or sees his mother?
- Can your child take one or two steps without any support?
- Does your child look at the correct picture when an image is named?
- Does your child show specific preference for certain people or toys?
- Does your child drink from a cup without assistance?
- Does your child walk by holding onto furniture?
- When you or someone else waves and says “bye-bye” to your child, can your child wave back without help?
♥ If your child is fourteen months, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:
- Does your child pull off their socks?
- When your child is playing alone, does he jabber as though really talking? (This jabbering does not have to be understandable.)
- Can your child put a small object (such as food or a toy) into a cup, let go of it, and leave it there for at least a few seconds?
- Without holding onto to something or touching the floor, can your child bend over or stoop to pick up a toy or other object on the floor and stand up again?
- Can your child walk across a large room without falling or wobbling from side to side?
- Does your child say other words besides “mama” or “dada”?
- When you or someone else waves and says “bye-bye” to your child, can your child wave back without help?
- Does your child take turns rolling a ball?
♥ If your child is fifteen months, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:
- Without holding on to something or touching the floor, can your child bend over or stoop to pick up a toy or other object on the floor and stand up again?
- Can your child walk all the way across a large room without wobbling from side to side or falling?
- If you roll a small ball to your child, can she roll or throw it back to you? If your child only hands the ball to you or if you have never tried this, select NO.
- Does your child enjoy picking up small objects and dropping them into a container?
- Does your child point and vocalize to indicate wants?
- Is your child cooperative when getting dressed, like extending arms, lifting legs and pulling down shirt?
- Is your child using a spoon to feed themselves, spilling sometimes?
- Does your child say at least one other word besides “mama,” “dada,” or the names of the family members or pets?
