DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING

Ten to twelve months

♥   If your child is ten months old, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:

  1. Does your baby repeat the same sounds several times in a row like “ dadadada,” or “ gagagaga”?
  2. Can your baby play “pat-a-cake” with someone without any help, such as helping him clap his hands?
  3. Can your baby drink from a cup when it is held for them?
  4. Can your baby stand with you holding only one hand?
  5. When your baby picks up a small object, such as a raisin, does he do so by squeezing it between his thumb and at least one finger, like a pincers?
  6. Does your baby use exclamations like “OH-OH”?
  7. Does your baby babble “mama” and “dada”?
  8. Does your baby extend his arms or legs when getting dressed?

♥   If your child is eleven months old, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:

  1. Can your baby stand alone (without having to hold on to something) for about five seconds?
  2. Does your baby finger feed herself for part of a meal?
  3. Does your baby put objects into a container?
  4. Can your child hold crayons and make marks on a paper without help?
  5. Can your child walk holding onto furniture?
  6. Can your child take objects out of a container?
  7. Does your child repeat sounds or gestures for attention?
  8. Does your child understand simple verbal directions, like “no”?

♥   If your child is twelve months old, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:

  1. Does your baby crawl rapidly on his hands and knees?
  2. Can your child find hidden objects easily?
  3. Can your baby mark with a pencil?
  4. Does your baby say two words, other than “mama” or “dada”?
  5. Does your baby walk with both hands held?
  6. Does your baby wave “bye-bye”?
  7. Does your baby play with parents and brothers or sisters?
  8. Can your child let you know what he wants without crying or whining?   Examples are pointing or pulling on you.
