DEVELOPMENTAL SCREENING

Nineteen months to 2 years old

♥   If your child is nineteen to twenty-four months old, please answer the following questions with a yes or no response:

  1. Does your child show affection with hugs and kisses?
  2. Does your child ask for food when hungry?
  3. Can your child chew small bites of food?
  4. Does your child play actively with toys?
  5. Does your child say at least 50 words?
  6. Can your child walk up or down stairs using alternative feet?
  7. Does your child put toys or other objects back where they belong?
  8. Without holding on to anything, can your child kick a small ball (like a tennis ball)? (Select yes if you have seen your child do this with a small ball.)
  9. Can your child take off any of his clothes, such as pajamas (tops or bottoms) or pants?   (Do not count diapers, hats, socks, or shoes.)
  10. Does your child speak in sentences having two or more words?
  11. Can your child jump up and down?
  12. Can your child turn the pages of a book one by one?
  13. Does your child point to objects in a book?
  14. Does your child say “no” often?
  15. Does your child point to body parts correctly?
  16. Does your child understand simple directions like “give me the ball”?
  17. Can your child build a tower with four or more blocks?
  18. Can your child find an item even if it is hidden under two or more covers?
  19. Does your child play make-believe with dolls, animals, and people?
  20. Does your child imitate the behavior of others, especially adults and older children?
  21. Does your child sort shapes?
  22. Can your child identify colors?
  23. Is your child becoming more and more independent?
