Mr. Bob Seger - Board Chair
Spencer County
"I felt honored when asked to be a member of the SIRS Board of Directors and willingly agreed to serve. I am happy to be involved in our local communities."
Board Membership Expectations : To bring a civic-minded attitude and an interest to enrich the quality of life of all people with disabilities. I have a disability myself and want to assist in the growth, development, and mission of the SIRS organization. I plan to continue advocating for and supporting people with disabilities of all ages in our communities. I will also work to increase the awareness of SIRS' vision and mission of full inclusion with employees and employers in our communities.
Mr. Seger is an Employment Specialist for WORKONE Evansville, and recently published a book on Santa Claus Land Memorabilia. He is a member of the Santa Claus Chamber of Commerce, the Spencer County Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Wounded Veterans of Dubois County, the Fraternal Order of Police, Santa Claus Optimist Club, Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity, American Legion Post #242, Jasper Knights of Columbus, and an active member of the St. Nicholas Church in Santa Claus.

Ms. Brenda Stoffel - Vice Chair
Dubois County
"I hope to bring my knowledge and experiences with children and available services to the Board and to help the other board members have a better understanding of SIRS' children's services."
Board Membership Expectation: To bring an understanding of where SIRS was and insight into what some of SIRS' hopes and dreams are for the future. Since I have worked with special needs children for almost 19 years, I hope to help make wise decisions not only for the adults SIRS serves, but also to the children and their families.
Ms. Stoffel represents Dubois County and is an Independent Developmental Therapist with First Steps. She was previously employed with SIRS in the children's services department for 13 years. She is a member of the Iota Lamda Chapter of Psi Iota Xi Sorority, the President of Dubois County First Steps Council, and the Coordinator for a parent support group called PALS (Parents Are Listening and Sharing). Ms. Stoffel is a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church where she serves on the Education Committee, Co-Chairs the College Ministry, and has taught Sunday School for over 20 years. |
Mr. Don Critchlow - Secretary
Dubois County
“Because of my daughter with special needs, I decided to be a member of SIRS board”.
As a member of the board, Mr. Critchlow hopes to “learn more about SIRS and get a better understanding of the needs of special needs children”.
Mr. Critchlow, as a nearly life-long resident of Jasper, represents Dubois County bringing a wealth of community experience. He currently serves on the Board of the Jasper Band Parents as Treasure and is a 25-year member of the Lions Club. Mr. Critchlow also served as the Treasure of Special Olympics from 2001 to 2005 continues his support of Special Olympics as a Coach and volunteer.
Mr. Critchlow is married to his wife Jane, of 21years, and has 2 daughters, Laura and Michelle. Mr. Critchlow is a stay at home dad but before that he worked in the Human Resource Department for 6years at JOFCO. |
Mr. Ron Magnus
Spencer County
"In the past, my special causes have included the disabled and senior citizens. These two groups represent a special place in my heart. I feel SIRS is a fine organization that addresses the needs of the less fortunate. It is an organization that has my respect and admiration. I hope that some of my humble talents can have a positive effect in the future success of this organization."
Board Membership Expectations : To continue and expand the fine work that SIRS does for the community, and to offer my individual talents within the scope and duties of the Board.
Mr. Magnus is the owner of Ron Magnus Appraisals, a real estate appraisal firm in Spencer County. His past experience includes sales management, store management, teaching, and nuclear security for the U.S. Army. Mr. Magnus is a member of the Reo Water-Wellhead Protection Board, the Spencer County Chamber of Commerce, and the Trinity Methodist Church. He also volunteers his appraisal expertise for Habitat for Humanity in Spencer County. |
Pam Franzman
Perry County
" I would like to be the best Board Member that I can be - to be a positive leader and communicate for a wonderful organization. "
Ms. Franzman is an insurance agent and the owner of the Franzman Insurance Agency and a member of the Tri-Kappa Associate Chapter, St. Pauls Church and a past President of the Parent Teacher Organization. She chose to become a SIRS Board member to become an active participant in an organization that her family has strong roots and very dedicated devotions to. Ms Franzman expects to be part of a board that is open to new creative ideas and works together to solve any and all problems in a positive manner. |
Mr. Donald "Ike" Schorr
Spencer County
"I became a SIRS Board Member to support community and individual development opportunities."
As a member of the Board, Mr. Shore hopes to assist SIRS in doing its best to achieve company objectives with the resources available. He offers his experience and knowledge to assist in the fulfillment of organization goals and mission. Mr. Shore is retired from Fifth Third bank and now works as a real estate sales agent for Key Associates. He is active in Lincolnland Economic Development, the Spencer County Community Foundation and the Optimist club. |
Dean Bromm
Dubois County
Mr. Bromm hopes to use his background and experiences at Indiana Furniture to “bring some new ideas and new technologies to the SIRS’ Board” and desires to be “open-minded in my decisions so they make a positive impact on people like my daughter”
Dean Bromm is employed at Indiana Furniture as a Process Engineering Manager and has been so for the past 13 years. In his professional capacity, Dean oversees the maintenance at all facilities, justifies/creates new layouts for equipment, and insures the ordering of new equipment.
Mr. Bromm resides in Huntingburg with Elaine, his wonderful wife of 12 years and their three children Nathan, Alison, and Carson.
Mr. Bromm states that “Allison is the reason that I agreed to sit on the Board. “I want to help her and others like her”. Mr. Bromm hopes to use his background and experiences at Indiana Furniture to “bring some new ideas and new technologies to the SIRS’ Board” and desires to be “open-minded in my decisions so they make a positive impact on people like my daughter. |
Marla Hendrickson
Warrick County
Ms. Hendrickson hopes to use her 21 years experience as a Special Education Resource Teacher at Boonville High School to “help improve the transition programming for students from high school to the adult world so that they can become as independent as possible and at the same time contribute to their community.” As a high school teacher, she sees the importance of assisting graduates in identifying and achieving their personal goals. It is her expectation that the Board and the SIRS organization continue being creative advocates for those with disabilities by providing strong community services including job opportunities and improving access for leisure activities. She is excited to have this opportunity. Ms. Hendrickson stated upon accepting her new role, “I want to be part of the dynamic group that facilitates the inclusion of those with disabilities into the community.”
Ms. Hendrickson is also a member of the Warrick County Teachers Association, the Indiana State Teachers Association, the National Education Association, the Boonville Baseball Boosters, Tri-Kappa, Kiwanis and has been a member of the Indiana Protection and Advocacy Services. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Indiana University and her Master’s degree from Indiana State University. |
Larry Oathout
Perry County
Mr. Oathout hopes to use his past experience as a board member with other organizations, “To lay the ground work for SIRS staff to provide great service to the people served”. When asked why he chooses to accept his role on the board Mr. Oathout stated “Professionally and personally, I constantly come into contact with people who have their lives changed in a positive way by SIRS programs. It is an honor to be associated with an organization that has such an impact.” It is his expectation to “help lay the groundwork” by being mindful of the number of people touched by SIRS as future plans are made.
Mr. Oathout is employed as the Director of Tell City-Perry County Library. He is also a member of Tell City Kiwanis, Tell City Regional Arts Association and he serves on the boards of Leadership Perry County and Perry County Even Start. |
Ms. Christal Moskos - Past Chair
Perry County
"I want to be a part of an exciting and value-oriented organization whose values match my own."
Board Membership Expectations : To help individuals reach their greatest potential, to hopefully help guide the direction of the organization in the area of self-determination and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
Ms. Moskos is a supervisor of the Healthy Families Program for Lincoln Hills Development Corporation. She is also a member of Leadership Perry County 2001, Catholic Charities Board of Directors, Perry County Substance Abuse Committee, and March of Dimes Committee. |
Mr. Steve Uebelhor - Ex Officio
Dubois County
"I am dedicated to the philosophy that all life is sacred, and that we must work to protect our most vulnerable citizens, particularly the Unborn, the Aged, and Handicapped."
Board Membership Expectation : To gain a broader understanding of the lives and needs of those special people we intend to serve. I intend to first learn more about the operations of SIRS then offer any help in whatever areas my past associations and experiences can take us.
Mr. Uebelhor has been President of Uebelhor Developments since 1977. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Secondary Education from Kentucky Wesleyan College. Mr. Uebelhor is the director and active member of Dubois County Right to Life, Teens for Life, and Matrix Lifeline Crisis Pregnancy Center. |
